New Guidelines for Children’s Nutrition by Health Promotion Board, which will recommend that all babies be exclusively breastfed for the first six months for optimum health and development.

24 November 2007		Breastfeeding Skills Workshop for Nurses.
		This pre-registered Workshop will cater to 60 nurses from the polyclinics, to hone practical skills in helping mothers to breastfeed successfully. Conducted by ABAS at KK Hospital.

Mid-November 2007		Launching of ABAS educational video, “Breastfeed because it is Perfect – a Guide to Breastfeeding and Baby Care”
		This video will be distributed to the maternity hospitals, polyclinics, and private women’s and children’s clinics for the benefit of mothers and mothers-to-be. Please request to view the video at any of these locations.

3 November 2007		How to Manage Problems of the Mother-Child in the First Month – a Seminarv for Medical Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals.
		Time : 2 .00 – 4.30 pm (with Lunch, commencing at 1.00pm) Venue : HPB Auditorium, Level 7 HPB Building 3 Second Hospital Avenue, Singapore 168937 Synopsis: Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life, and continued breastfeeding till 2 years and beyond is the ideal nutrition for infants. This seminar will equip you with the practical aspects of managing the mother and infant during the crucial 1 month post-delivery, with the aim of holistic management of the dyad, and supporting establishment of breastfeeding.

20 – 27 April 2006		Dr Jack Newman’s Lecture Visit
		Dr Jack Newman of Toronto, Canada, eminent paediatrician and author of “The Ultimate Breastfeeding Book”, was in Singapore for a lecture visit in April. Most of his schedule was to address healthcare professionals and share his practical expertise in helping mums and babies succeed in breastfeeding. He also spoke at a Public Forum on 23 April 2006.
